Council of European Muslims is a cultural organisation, with hundreds of member organisations across the 28 European states. The council which was founded in 1989, is the largest Islamic organisation in Europe.

What do we do?
Our Vision, Mission and Objectives
CEM’s vision is seeking to remove the barrier built on fear of the Islamic presence in the Europe; a fear fed by biased media, and some political forces that advocate hostile language and attitudes against the Muslim minorities.
The Council defines its mission as: “Publicising Islam, inspiring and supporting Europe’s Muslims to practise the rituals of their faith, and participate effectively in the varied aspects of life, within a frame of moderate understanding and a reformist, innovating approach”.
Faciliter la Pratique Religieuse et Préserver l’Identité Musulmane
Work to help Muslims practise the rituals of their faith, preserve their religious identity, take care of their social and religious affairs, and establish entities to assist them in that.
Promouvoir les Valeurs Islamiques dans le Contexte Européen
Support the promotion of the Islamic faith and values, in accordance with the requirements and unique features of European reality.
Favoriser le Dialogue Interreligieux et la Justice Sociale
Broaden dialogue between Muslims and followers of other faiths, beliefs, and ideologies, for positive interaction and fortifying social justice and peace.
Défendre les Libertés, les Droits Humains et la Dignité
Contribute to the efforts aimed at protecting liberties, defending human rights and dignity, and rejecting all forms of discrimination.
Encourager la Coopération avec les Institutions Gouvernementales et Civiques
Reinforce mutual recognition and cooperation with government and civic bodies at the European and global levels within the frame of common interests.
