On Friday, 23rd December 2022, a heinous and bloody attack was carried out in Paris targeting the “Kurdish Cultural Center, Ahmed Kaya”. Three people were killed while others were injured, some of whom in critical condition.
As the Council of European Muslims expresses its sincere condolences to the families of the victims, shares its prayers to the injured, and wishing them a speedy recovery, it also:
– Condemns the terrorist and criminal act, which had a racist motive, as admitted by the perpetrator.
– Expresses its total solidarity with the Kurdish community in France, and calls on the French authorities to protect it and prevent further attacks.
– Expresses deep concern over the rising number of terrorist attacks that have racist motives in recent years, as it has become a real threat to civil peace, and calls on the political authorities and civil society organisations – including the Islamic institutions – to make more efforts to put an end to such acts.
