The Council of European Muslims is holding its general conference in Istanbul amid the presence of more than 200 participants, including leaders and representatives of its member organisations as well as state officials.

The Council of European Muslims (CEM) is an independent, non-profit European institution concerned with the Islamic presence in Europe within its moderate Islamic approach.

“CEM will hold its general conference in Istanbul/Turkey, from 25th – 28th January 2024. More than 200 participants will participate in the event, including leaders and representatives of its member organisations from 27 European countries,” the Council of European Muslims revealed in a statement.

According to the statement, a group of academics, researchers, media professionals, and heads of friendly institutions working in the European arena will also participate in the event.

A reception, guest lectures, a dialogue symposium, and dinner in honour of the attendees round out the conference schedule.

According to the statement, prominent figures interested in the Islamic presence in Europe will be present at the open symposium titled “The Implications of the Middle East on Europe and the Role of European Muslims.”

The Council, which was founded in 1989, is made up of thousands of institutions from over 28 European nations. Representing the Islamic presence, it is regarded as the largest Islamic institution.
