On Monday, February 6, 2023, a major earthquake of magnitude 7.8 struck southeastern Turkey and northwest Syria. Hundreds of people were killed and injured in both countries as buildings collapsed across the region.
In this regard, the Council of European Muslims:
– Prays to the Almighty for mercy on the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to all the injured.
– Expresses its deepest condolences to the families of the disaster victims in both countries.
– Calls on the Islamic relief and humanitarian agencies to act urgently to provide emergency relief assistance to the affected persons.
