At dawn on Tuesday, the Israeli assault on Gaza resumed, leaving over 400 dead and dozens injured, effectively signalling the end of a fragile truce that had shown increasing signs of instability in recent days.

The Council of European Muslims, following these developments with deep concern, therefore:

• Calls on mediating parties and the states sponsoring the agreement to act immediately and seriously to restore the ceasefire, protect civilians, and resume the delivery of essential humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip.

• Urges European states and civil society institutions to play a proactive role in supporting the above demand, working towards a sustainable truce, and enforcing international resolutions.

• Warns that this renewed aggression against Gaza risks further escalation, leading to an even greater humanitarian catastrophe than the current crisis, and calls on the international community to take urgent action to ensure the necessary protection for the Palestinian people.
